but how is it mounted? That controls what can actually go on the
filesystem, not how it is configured to wine. Linux fstype vfat handles
fat12/16/32 with long filenames. Wine is only a *NIX application
program. It doesn't control the host OS.

None. win95 is a wine filesystem type (how you want the underlying
filesystem presented to the windows apps. (long filenames allowed, but
semi-case-insensitive) I use it with ext2.). fat32 is a trivial extension
to the msdose fat filesystem.
